1. I used bottled spring water, anything that's filtered...if I wont drink it, I won't give it to my geckos. And here in Florida, there's SOOOO many bad things in the water here. I would say boiled drinking water is probably okay.

2. The feeders in my enclosure are in a small dish, and I usually leave a small amount of cornmeal and a slice of potato or carrot in the dish. This way, the insects are stimulated to eat, and move more, which entices the gecko to want to eat.

I give them regular tap water. There are trace minerals in there that sustain the natural balance in most living creatures systems. That being said, it doesn't hurt to boil it. That should be fine.

My mealworms live in a bedding of powdered milk and whole wheat flour. They get fruit and vegetable bits for moisture. These get changed out every day to prevent molding.

When they're in the enclosure, I keep them in a dish as well. Like Maia said, some fruit or veggie in there will keep them from crawling out and will stimulate movement
