Here's some young DH Bell Pattys.
They're only a couple weeks old. The parents are a bell and a patternless so how did these guys get so hypo? The bell was not a hypo either.

Cool Steve. I'm working with a bunch of double hets (bell x patty) here and I've noticed that they do look very odd. I thought it may have just been my group...they are very hypo and their spotting ends up looking kind of different. I've noticed that they're some of my favorite looking "normal" adults...and their offspring have continued to look a bit different too (no Bell Patties yet!). Maybe I can snap a few pics.

I wonder where the hyponess comes from, maybe the patternless gene, I don't know. Pics would be great Paul. BTW have you ever gotten any bell het pattys or vise versa yet?

I have a few dh's that are slightly hypo, but a good number of them are mostly normal in appearance. If your Bell doesn't look hypo, my guess would be that the patternless parent has some lurking hypo genes.

Paul S., you shou should post your weird DH BBBs...

They are looking a little less weird now that they're maturing. Lots of black spots and attitudes that testify to their het-blizzardness. Here are two males and two females. Sorry the pictures kinda suck, I took them in a hurry. Unfortunately the palest male is also in shed, so it's hard to tell just how much paler than the others he is.

I'll get better pictures of them when I post them for sale (I gotta let go of some holdback before I move) after I get back from TX.
