Keep the new one far from your healthy gecko. Handle it last and wash your hands a lot. Get rid of all its poo as soon as you can. I highly recommend a vet visit. I would expect with MBD to see rubbery legs but I don't see that. It could be parasites, poor feeding or crypto, though I have no evidence at all to suspect that.

Yes I agree. With MDB you'll see rubbery and oversized legs that are soft. As long as you have cacium w/ D3 in the cage the gecko will lick it on its own if he needs it. I'd stop the nose feeding. Also follow Aliza's advice on handling and cleaing the new gecko's enclosure last and quaretined. A vet visit and running a fecal would be recommended.

Is he eating for you at all? Make sure he has some well gutloaded mealworms available at all times and don't rotate the uneaten mealworms or other food items to your other gecko. Keep them completely seperate as a precaution.

normally with these cases, i will call this a rescue the leopard geckos end up having Missing limbs and toes,Just bones from not being fed, very stuck on shed and the worst cases Blocked eye caps, not to say this a a healthy gecko by any means, however you seemed to have lucked out on many of the common heath problems besides Lack of food. making him lick D3 off his nose is ok but i never heard of this before, and i dont think it will cover it, what i would do it get a small bowl Fill it with D3 (like it seems you already have) and let him Lick/eat it up. Dust your feeders with it as well, common MBD is seen when the animal seems to shake as he/she is walking, or shakes even more when being held or scared. if this is the case then i would buy some Liquid D3 its about 6 bucks a bottle and there is also Pure calcium liquid i used before with great results. Keep your leopard geckos Far away from one another, Also buying waxworms to get weight on your new gecko would be a wonderful idea, good luck!

yeah i keep them in diff cages across the room from one another and i do wash my hands before holding one another. i havent seen him eat yet i put 3 small crickets in there. his legs dont seem to be rubbery either. i mean he looked like he use to be healthy at one point cause his size.hes not shakey either when i hold him.nor when he walks.he can open his eyes wide open as well.so it maybe just lack of feeding i hope. he acts just like my other one does when i take her out. now in the book i have. i should have the d3 with out the phosphorus correct. in that case i have stuff called reti calium from zoomed. no where on it says it has phosphorus.

He might just have a low calcium level, or the start of MBD, or he is is just very skinny, Until you know your new gecko doesn't have worms Keep your hands clean soap and warm water (you should always wash your hands when handling reptiles) ;)

for my reptiles i give Calcium with D3 out, 2 times a week. i dust there feeders before. Some people keep a bowl of Calcium with No d3 in there cage at all times, but i find it not very, i keep Liquid D3 and calcium and only use that for Sick reptiles (MBD is present) or my laying females.

i would treat yours like a normal leopard gecko however you could keep a bowl n there, but i would feed him Alot more often and with waxworms.

Looks like it just needs fed. I would switch to mealworms and leave a bowl available 24/7 just monitor it for regurgitation which it may do at first, some of our rescues eat so much in the beggining the regurge but they settle in and eat good. Also watch for diarrea as this and regurge is a common sign of sickness if they do it regularly then you should be alarmed. Doesn't look like MBD though just a case of skinny right now

Unless the gecko has diarrhea or weird stools it looks like it is just under feed.

The eyes appear to be bright and wide, could be crypto, but you would not be able to tell that other than a trip to the vet for some tests.

Should I find live mealworms or like the one at the local pet sore be fine?
Do not feed the canned foods that say they are meant for geckos. The food stinks and is not good for the gecko either.

I would try the live mealworms, they can normally be purchased for around $3 for 100. Then just place them on some wheat bran and give a carrot or potato for moisture. Superworms will also put bulk on your gecko.

Wouldn't the super worms be to big as of now? And wax worms can I them at like local tackle shop only reason I ask that is cause we don't have a exotic pet store around. I know its probbly not recommend cause don't know where there from etc. I got one more pet store to stop by to see if they have live wax worms or not

I have a gecko that looks JUST like this right now. She's been home for almost a week now. Well no, that's a lie, it's been four days :p I watch her so closely that she stresses me out. But she's doing okay in terms of eating. She has live mealies at all times and has been offered crickets which she hasn't seemed to want because the mealies are always there at her nose and I guess crickets do involve a lot more work :p I'm cleaning her out way more often in case there IS something in her poop that could be passed to the other geckos. (Who are housed seperately, of course). But anyway.

I'd avoid tackle store wax worms. Get it eating live mealies and crickets... the other problem with waxies is that they can get fussy and ONLY want waxies. Butterworms are also very nutritious if you can get your hands on some.

I start feeding superworms to geckos as old as 2-3 months. It will not hurt the gecko they can handle the super worms. If the pet store sells birds it should also carry mealworms or super worms as they are feed to birds too.

I do not feed wax worms, just because people have said they have trouble getting the gecko to eat anything else if they get hooked on was worms.

I've also heard it's difficult to get the gecko to heat anything other than waxies, but the greater concern is the actual nutritional value of waxies, unless of course they are gut loaded. Heaven forbid I should suggest them, but chain stores P**** or P******* generally carry decent quality waxies, supers, and mealies for cheap. They're a decent way to start a small gut-loading operation, or even a colony if you don't already. Just ask around or look for the refrigerator. Also, just for reference, how big is this new gecko? And how does the tail look? if you can post a pic from above, maybe with an object of reference as well.

Go slow with the feed as it will regurg if you try too hard to power feed it. Offer it one or two to start and then progress from there. You really need live mealworms which is what you want to end up at. The stool is hard to judge right now because the health of the animal is not good. It may come correct as it gains more weight
