I have been waiting all day to get my new little girl. I have been so super excited but worried at the same time because it has been cold. She was due here today but as the day wore on I got more and more anxious. I saw the ups truck drive right by my house. I went inside and called ups and my little girl is no where near here. They said there was a delay in shipping. WTH!!!!! I am livid right now. So my new baby is out there in some cold truck or warehouse. Has this happened to anyone and was the gecko ok. And if she isn't ok can I do anything about it?

I haven't had any problems with getting my Leos shipped via UPS, they are more reliable than Fed Ex, but shipping issues do occur. UPS will not do anything about it if the Leo isn't ok. They state it on their website that they are not responsible for live shipments, but the breeder you bought her from may do something. Who did you get her from?

I would make a P.I.T.A out of myself and call UPS (politely, I might add) until I found out exactly where my gecko was and when exactly I would receive it.

If I was told the typical "It's out of my hands, I can't do anything" response, i'd say that i'd hold until they found someone that could.

Oh, I did they said she would be at the processing center tonight and would go out tomorrow. And she was an adoption so all I paid was shipping. I am hoping she will be ok.

Pretty much the same thing just happened to me this morning. I called U** and made arrangements to pick her up at a some what local hub. I notified the breeder and I was assured that she will be fine. Try to call and find out if they will try to redeliver or if you can pick it up. I like to get them out of the box a.s.a.p. personally.

If the gecko was packed properly it should be fine. The weather in most of the country is pretty nice right now. Do you know how the gecko was shipped, as in what guaranteed time it was supposed to be delivered by? If something did happen and the gecko does not arrive alive you don't have any recourse with UPS in regards to the value of the animal since you cannot insure them. If the delay was the fault of UPS and not some uncontrollable circumstance like weather, then they should refund the entire shipping amount to the sender. Hopefully the sender packed her well and she'll be just fine! Keep us posted.

Thanks for the responses. After several (around 6) phone calls I found out that my little girl was left in texas. I was a tad relieved because it has been pleasant in Texas. I guess it is alot better than being left in a warehouse somewhere else. She is out for delivery today so hopefully and heres praying she will be okay.

I sincerely apologize for my language. I was angry and wasn't thinking.

She arrived and she is fine and very hungry. She is exceptionally small and skinny but has a decent tail. I am sure it won't take long at all for her to fatten up.
