New to this forum. Thanks!

I have noticed that leos have really gotten super cheap lately. Great morphs can now be had for 50-60! Unreal. Is this bad economy affecting prices and are leos just not selling or what.
Nice forum.

Near where I live there is a place called Jacks Pet's and Aquarium and they have leo's for $30 last time I was there.

I understand but it just seems like some sites have tons of leos that are just not selling now.
This economy is brutal>>>>>

I haven't noticed sales being slower than normal, personally. I don't know that people are really buying less geckos, I think it may be that some people are just producing way more than they can sell.

3 of my leos were $25 each (Reverse Stripe, Mack Snow and Rainbow Stripe) and another one was on sale, $18 (SHTCTB). Then my Tremper Enigma was $200. lol. But I got REALLY REALLY lucky finding the first group of morphs, as the seller didn't know what they had (as typical for lps/big chain pet stores).

I'm hoping when I go back to get my new leo that they'll have some cool morphs. Last time I went it was just normals, but I'm hoping they'll have a variety, and I'm REALLY hoping for any kind of Snow.

My two geckos came from a chain petstore for the sale price of $17.99 as well. I would have preferred to buy from a breeder but I'm not one to pass up a good deal. Luckily both are very healthy. One is maturing into a shtct while the other is a feisty murphy patternless. Pretty good for the petstore, eh?

My local place has normal babies starting @ £35 ($50) ranging to blizzards @ £65 ($95)

My normal baby cost £30 cos I buy a lot from there. But it's always the same, the US get everything super cheap, while us britfags get shat on. :'(

Saying that, though I do find that they are much better kept in the shops here than US. All the "pet-store" rescue things make me cringe. I'm so glad our pet chain stores only sell, hamsters, rabbitts, mice, some fish. Etc.

Yeah, I think you misread my post. I am glad UK chain pet stores don't sell reptiles & other exotic
Pets due to them being harder to look after and misinformed members of the public buying them and mistreating them.

I'm assuming that your talking about pet shops because the breeders I've looked at that I trust haven't been dropping prices, some do at the end of the season because they're trying to get rid of them but never seen them that low. A few people I've talked to have offered to give me a "good" price because they feel they know me as a friend and trust me as an owner but that's rare. While paying less than $20 seems great and perfect for my budget it's too much of a chance to take in my opinion. I want an animal that I'm going to be able to enjoy and know the quality I'm getting. I also want to work with someone I can trust and can turn to for advice if anything were to occur in the future or if I had any questions. Anyone selling really good morphs at such low prices brings up questions marks in my opinion. But that's just me.. if it works for someone else more power to you!

I don't think I'd get one from a breeder, just because the pet stores don't know when they have a really nice gecko, and sell it for cheap.
