Well its finally summer, and time for me to take on a new project. I have two options:

A reef tank, or a leopard gecko..

Pros and cons for a reef tank..

Cons:
EXPENSIVE
Much harder to maintain then reptiles
Pros:
Beautiful when finished
More than one animal
Amazing LFS

Leopard gecko

Pros:
Easier
Cheaper
Don't have one
Cons:
One animal
Nowhere with expertise with reptiles for help

Alright, I kinda need some help deciding what to do. So please tell me your opinion...

id go with a leopard gecko. you can have more then one in a tank as long as there all females and the tank is big enough to hold them. pluse the money you would spend on the fishs and getting all put together you could get a few cool leopard gecko morphs.

What I was thinking.. in my 75 gallon I've spent... around 1400 on it and its nowhere near fully stocked.

The only other thing is that my mom is iffy about me getting a leo, and I need to convince her to join me..

It sounds as if you already have a fish tank that needs more stock and more refinement, so it's hard to know why you'd want another, though maybe I'm not understanding something. A lot of it depends on what you want to focus on:
If you want something "completely different" a leopard gecko is the way to go
If you want something you can handle, same thing
If you want something really colorful, you can achieve this to an extent with a customized leopard gecko cage, but the reef tank will win hands down in my opinion
Is there something you'd want from a new reef tank that you can't achieve with what you've got? Have you had a chance to handle a leopard gecko and see if it appeals to you?

Good luck in your decision making.

I have all the stock for my tank, its just not in the dt yet. I also want something to take to college, and a reef is hard to move

If you're really 31, you should get what you want and not what your mom wants :main_yes:

You're getting ready to go to college? Check first whether you're allowed to have pets wherever you're going to live.
