I don't like the idea of keeping live food

I've decided that I'm going to take a shot at breeding mealworms later on (I still don't have my gecko yet!) so I can save a little cash. From what I've read it seems very easy.

Also, is it safe for the geckos to eat the beetles also? Some people feed their's roaches, that's why I'm asking.

Yea, but the geckos don't care for them. Lots of shell and not so much meat.

Mealworms and fine for leos, make a good staple. I wouldnt reccomend feeding the beetles though.
