I dropped my leopard gecko!

I was holding her and she jumped from my hand and before I could grab her she landed on the tile floor. She was scared when she landed and wouldn't move. The tip of her tail kept moving though. I put her in her cage and normally when I put her back in her cage she moves towards her wet hide. She walked around for a bit, went to go into her wet hide but kept missing the entrance. She finally got in, and the tip of her tail was still jerking back and forth. I had just fed her meal worms before I accidentally dropped her. In her wet hide, she thought her tail was a worm and kept biting it. The scales there look a bit disturbed but it doesn't look like a major cut. I took her out of her cage to keep her from biting herself and now she is crawling on me like she normally does. Should i be worried about brain damage? What can I do to keep her from biting her tail. It's not twitching as much anymore. Could the twitching tail be like a seizure? Should I put anything on the cut? HELP!

Hmm, I would wait and see at this point. She may drop her tail, and she could have internal bleeding. If you see bruising, I would plan a trip to the vet's. I guess all you can do now is be more careful. I hope she's alright.

The twitchy tail would probably indicate that the end of the tail has fractured.
Normally when they drop the entire tail or a section it jerks around to keep the attention of the predator while the gecko escapes.
So the tail jerking shows that it’s disconnected internally but not externally. That would be why the gecko was biting it, to try and release it completely.
The tail will probably die and drop off in a few days/weeks and as long as it’s kept clean it should heal fine.

I would say shes probably going to drop it, but you need to watch carefully, if the tip starts to die, and it doesnt fall off it will need to be amputated to keep the rotting flesh away from the open wound.
