If any of you keep your leopard geckos at 75-78 degrees, typically.
EVER?
If you do, how well do they eat? Are they active?
Are they nice and fat?

Or...do they eat less? Do they regurg?

Just curious.

***NO, I do NOT keep my geckos at those low of temperatures, EVER. I am just curious as to if anyone else does and, if so, how does the gecko behave?***

A lot of people in my country don't provide heat at all; however, the ambient temperature is mostly above 80F. It seems the geckos still do "ok" at lower temps, but they definately eat less; and many owners claim that if the gecko ate too much and regurgitate, it'll be very difficult to get them eat again.

I have always provide proper heating for my geckos, so I'm only commenting on the photos I see in the local forums. They look fine, just not as chubby as most geckos in this forum.

ok when i had large amounts of geckos. i once placed one on a non heated shelf i thought was heated .yes the food intake went down, much less active and it did regurgitate once. once i got it back on the heat all was fine :)
the ambient temp in my house is about 75

My house temperature is usually hovering at around that most of the year, so that's what my ambient temps are. For the most part my guys have heating pads, but for one reason or another I have had to keep a few without any additional heat from anywhere between one week and several. And they were fiiine. Do you know how cold it can get in their native Afghanistan? Minus 15*! That's pretty darn cold. Mine didn't stop eating - in fact, they ate the exact same amount, gained weight at the same rate, and remained just as active.

I don't think it's recommended for the entire year, but for a couple weeks they'll probably be fine. Leopard geckos are so much hardier than most people give them credit for.

my tanks at night stay about 78 and 82 ( and yes the are VERY fat and eat lots lol) mostly because i have my ac vent taped off in my liz room and my beardie tanks are at 101 most of the day so the room stays pretty warm but 75 is pretty cool . we keep our house at 78 during the day and 75 at night.
