Hey I have a super important question to ask about my leos. First off, I dont know much about this couple that I have. I walked into ++++++++ one day and a man walked in with two leos and a tank and left them there. I ended up adopting them since i have other reptiles at home. I was told by the reptile "expert" there that they are both females so i took his word. Well about a weeks ago i saw them getting it on and its clear that they are opposites. I wasnt expecting to wake up to eggs this morning. The eggs are dented up and im not super sure what i should do. ive seen your videos and they have helped but i need to know should i seperate the leos and are the eggs okay?? Also they seem to have gotten skinnier in the last couple weeks they only eat crickets which i have been trying to gut load with that hydrating filler. If you can help please please do
Thank You

Here is some basic information:
1. Yes, separate the geckos so they don't mate more. The female gecko, even when separated, may continue to lay eggs every 2 weeks for awhile. They may or may not be fertile but they won't hatch unless you can keep them some place with stable temperatures (within a degree or two) somewhere in the 80-88 range.

2. They may be losing weight because the female is using her body resources to make eggs and the male is more interested in breeding than eating.

3. It's best for the crickets to have some sort of grain based gutload as well as the water crystals

4. If you separate the geckos, they continue to lose weight and especially if their droppings are loose and/or smelly, they may have a parasite. You will need to take them to a reptile vet

5. Google "leopard gecko care" and read some caresheets. You can read mine on my website: Geckcessories

I hope this is helpful.

It might sound harsh but I wouldnt even both to incubate the eggs.
There really isnt any demand for hatchlings with unknown genetics. I would throw them away.
