I want to get a female and male leopard gecko. They have there own cage and I want to build a rack for the babies. I'm almost done designing it but i need help with building it so I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas on how to build it and any other things I will need to build it.

I will be posting my design as soon as I get it done.

Thanks

you can find good rack systems on internet. or you can buy some shoeboxes (plastic) or ferplasts and put them on a stand

I like cages if you only have a small number of Leos. But if you have a good many of them then I would definately love a rack. :main_yes:

Well, I'll throw a couple comments to you. I'm not sure what I call mine. Rack? I guess its a place for my hobby critters. Here tis. My favorite place to shop. Walmart...Wire shelves/ stand.....quick, sturdy, 1 " adjustable(snap clip) shelves, leveling feet, free air flow, 3 feet X 14"deep X 54" tall......comes with I think 4 shelves....approx. $30.00
Now I use these in the Hobby / Kinda Breeder way. I like to see
the action going on so I have a number of the shelves....some I put only 2 shelves on to have room for my bigger tanks (aquariums).....Took the leftover shelves and added them to other stands to accommodate (3) 10 gal. aquariums
turned end side out, per shelf........or (3) 12 qt. Rubermaid latchable tubs.
You can put heat tape or whatever you desire and run it easily since they are open. .......Photos I think will be here somewhere. Take care. HJ

I have finally finished my design so I thought I would post it. I drew it out but it wouldn't scan so I had to re-draw it. So here it is:

The cage measures 43"x14"x50.75" (LxWxH). There is a place where the bins go(on top) then there is shelves underneath with doors. The shelves with the doors are 24" and then the rack part is 26.75". The thick black solid line are just the boards that go across the shelf and where the tubs sit. All measurements are in inches.

If you have any more questions about it just ask me and keep up the good post it really helps me.

I also use a shelf system, but instread of tubs I use front-opening stackable cages from glasscages.com. the ones I use, "half '29's" are the same length and width as 29 gallon tanks (12 1/2" x 30") but only half the height. They open from the front which makes it possible to put them on shelves. I divide each tank into 3 sections of 10" x 12 1/2" using plexiglass and keep 1 or 2 hatchlings in each section. Right now I am housing 17 hatchlings in my front opening rack space with room for a few more before I have to go to my overflow tub rack.
