I Rescued A Leopard Gecko

Adults typically don't eat daily, and if he had a big meal it could be several days before he's hungry again. Is he pooping?

I finally came up with a name for my male gecko. Ren. From the Ren and Stimpy cartoon. There was an episode where there were these blind cave geckos if I remember correctly.

It's becoming an addiction with me. He's probably sick of me poking my face into his tank and touching him all the time. Like I said before there's almost a mammal like cuteness to them.

Gecko fever continues. I ordered 500 mealworms that were shipped today. I found a perfect light fixture at a thrift shop for $4. I also have a 50 watt red heat bulb on the way. $3 at Pet Smart. And he's shedding. He actually crawled into the humid hide today for the first time.

I started 4 months ago with adopting Geek. He came with a 10g and 2 hides.

As of today Geek is in an Exo-Terra 40 with 4 hides, mag shelfs, back rock wall to climb and I am planning on building custom shelves and hides for him this summer

I also just adopted a trio tonight that came with a 40g

The biggest yet - I ordered a colony of Dubia Roaches tonight to raise food for all of them. If I am willing to house, feed and raise roaches - you know I MUST love my Gecko's! LOL

Addicting is right!!!

An update on Ren. He's getting huge. He eats like a horse. I take him out of his tank everyday and put him on my shoulder and we walk around the house together. I'll sit on the couch with him and he just sits there on my shoulder perfectly happy. Sometimes he'll switch shoulders but he seems comfortable there. I'm keeping my eyes open for a 20 gallon long tank. He's almost half the length of the 10 gallon tank he's now in.
