Oh no doubt, I've read about people's geckos not liking red light. I wasn't suggesting all geckos are fine with light lol :)

What's even more bizarre is that he squints at the red, but yet does not squint as much with the UVB. I don't understand it.:main_huh:

I would try a light with rango but he might kill me lol. He gets his semi pitch black, a little tv/computer glow. I can normaly just make out his shape scurrying around the tank, with the occasional chirp.

any good lights that raises the temps a tiny bit? for the winter

The infra red bulbs give more heat. The problem is there is a few geckos who do not appreciate it. My gecko seems to do better with the moonlight which offers little heat.

it's all over the internet unfortunately

oh well no more internet information for me I'll be coming here and using books from now on.

Yes, It is so difficult especially for beginners. Some care sheets can literally kill your reptiles. Look at this caresheet I found in another post. Totally different.

no lights. if you want to see your gecko. pick it up and hold it.

? We spoke about several types of lights. I had never had any problems with UVB lights. My leo does not like being held. I will not ever force handle any reptile.

I just want to make clear that the reason UVB was mentioned was because the op asked what I used during the day. I am in no way recommending anyone to use UVB. It has to be used safely and not for those without a good amount of reptile knowledge or geckos kept in regular size enclosures. I have taken in ill geckos with MBD and treated them with UVB successfully and I am aware of all precautions. So what works for me, may not work for others.

I agree. I have some that do not like being picked up so I don't.
As for UVB it's true, not everybody can use it safely. I guess that's why many are so against it.
