Ok so a while back I posted about a water monitor that was brought into work because someone found it abandoned. They swore they could take care of it and what ever. Well a week ago they brought it back in and decided they couldnt, so one of our other employees took it home. I just want to make sure that this is a water monitor. Sorry about the bad picture she sent it to me from her cell phone, we cant get a better one cause no one has a camera.

There are many aquatic monitor species but as far as the common name goes, "water monitor" is reserved for varanus salvator... There are a few subspecies of v. salvator but they are all still v. salvator... They have a huge range... Asian subcontinent from Sri Lanka to China, down Southeast Asia to Indonesia, and the Philippines...
