Those don't look good at all. I am pretty sure those have gone bad. I had some start doing that a while ago. Sorry. Try using Perlite. It holds moisture really well but doesn't make the substrate too wet.

Am so disappoint. what a dreadful day, I really was looking at this to cheer me up but when they started looking worst I was worried. but now this was going to be my first eggs to hatch and I was counting down the days and such…and now when they’re going to hatching. This happens. Well I knew it was going to happen to me..but my first pair of eggs….am just miserable now. Uhh..

I just had the same thing happen today. Luckily it was only one of them so far, but the power went out here a while ago and I think that is what caused mine to die. I just hope it didn't affect the rest. I also cut into the suspected bad egg very carefully just in case I was wrong...in which I was 99% sure i wasn't. There was a dead embryo in there, maybe only like 2 weeks old. Looked like a booger with eyes...it was very upsetting because I was hoping they would make it even with the power outage but this one didn't. I suspect the clutch mate didn't either but we shall see.

I have found that before... it seems to be an early stage of development that has died... Sorry about your eggs :main_no:
Do you have any more to look forward to? I know you are bummed now.. that does stink!! My first clutch one died and one hatched... but this will just make the first hatchling that much more special ;)

Yeah I have 14 other eggs in the incubator as well but 4 are still iffy since they were in the incubator when the power went out but 10 should be good as long as no other unforeseen events occur.

I have had eggs that have dented in worse then that and still hatch out fine. I will not do anything to an egg until it starts to grow mold on it like the first one is doing in your pic. Better be safe then sorry. Eggs that are alive will resist mold and one that is dead will mold quickly. The only eggs that have molded on me was ones that have hatch out and turned out infertile the first week. I use hatchrite and have had 100 percent hatching success so far! Hopefully it will continue!

Heres pics of my eggs that dented in and the hatchlings from them.
