I'm getting new babies!!!!

Hello everyone,

I am getting two, 2 month old AFT geckos on Wednesday. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on caging and any good care sheets. I know a little bit about AFTs but I have never owned one.

Hi Angel:

I have two breeding colonies and I love my AFTs!! They are so mellow. The set-up is similar to the leopard gecko set-up (temp and cage furnishings), however they like more humidity. In my rack, I have a water bowl in the back near the heat tape to cre:main_thumbsup: ate a nice humid environment for them. The other thing is they eat cricket and LOVE them. I feed mine only get loaded cricket.

Run out to the pet store and buy a book one how to care for leopard geckos. As far as I know there are no books on AFT's but as mantioned Leo's and AFT's are almost identical. The book should touch on AFT's a little to explain the differences.

If you haven't already, go out and get the cage now and set it up. If you wait 'til the last minute you might not have the proper temps and that can trouble.

same substrate as leo; paper towels, carpet, or slate.
at least 2 dry hides
humid hide, kept moist
water bowl

and that's it in a nutshell...

you can add other stuff too. temps no higher than 88. dont spray the cage, there's no need for everythign to be wet.
