as you may know by now, I am selling my geckos. I love them dearly......but with my career, I simply cannot keep up with them. Law Enforcement is great but you have to make many sacrifices. Unfortunately, free time is often one of them. I have always maintained a high level of husbandry with my snakes and geckos and the bottom line is, I would rather sell them before I allowed them to be neglected. Thanks to everyone for all of your help. Mike Panichi

I bet that's a tough decision to have to make. I hope you'll still keep a few around to amuse you during your down time. Be safe.

Hey Mike - Thanks for letting us know...sometimes folks just disappear with out a word. Best wishes to you...and like Greg said above, thank you for your dedication in law enforcement. Hopefully at some point you'll be able to jump back into the hobby and I'm sure a lot of us will be happy to "hook you up" ;) I know what you mean about the free time...I come close to packing up every year, but so far I've been able to squeak by. You'll be missed, but please hop on the forums when you can!

Aww man that stinks, but at least it's for a good reason... I hope you'll be able to get back into the hobby down the road sometime!

I understand how it is, I have been there before and it's not easy letting these little guys go once you've taken care of them for so long. I had to sell off my collection as well, but once everything settled down with school, work, and my living situation, I was able to start again. Maybe you can think of having one or two in the future when (or IF!) your schedule ever calms down. Good luck with your career and I hope you find happy homes for your babies :)

thanks

I can retire in about 4 years. That doesnt mean I will, LOL but I'll have "my twenty" in. We'll see then. I will still keep the boas though. They just dont require the same level of hands on.

I'll miss seeing your booth @ the white plains shows. I met you at the last one & you were very helpful & had gorgeous animals. Good luck from a future leo (law enforcement officer, not leo gecko lol).

thanks Mike

not many people know what a LEO is, LOL. Best of luck to you. Remember this.......at the end of the day, leave the job in your locker. Again, best of luck.

Yeah, having snakes and geckos is a lot of work! I've got about 25 kingsnakes + a growing number of geckos, so I know how it feels (for your wife, lol :) ).

Hey Mike, I'm gonna call you in a bit here. Just gotta get these bells, mack het bells and enigma in some tubs first. :D Then I've got to assemble a new rack, feed a ton of animals, etc... see it never ends!

Interesting, we sold all of our 40+ boa morphs because of time and space. Then started working with leos...lol

Best of luck to you!

Giving up our passion/obsession was the hardest choice we ever made, and yet we still have a pair of boas and an albino retic....the sickness :D

well you got my.......

understanding because of space but as far as time goes.......the Geckos take way more of it. I have some central american morphs(bloodboas, t positive nics and such) they stay smaller than the rest and are more managable. Thanks.
