There was a freak fire here last night about 15 minutes from my place... the smoke got really dark and covered the entire sky over the valley within about an hour or so... the sun started casting these intense oranges, yellows and reds as it was setting.... so I ventured out for a little bit with my camera... I was feeling creative... soooo....

Here are some of my favorites... they are fun abstract/artsy types of images...

(None of these have been enhanced in photoshop... this is exactly what it looked like outside.)

Enjoy! :D

Great pictures!!

It was yellow outside here day before yesterday. Not the cool orange in your pictures - more of a sickly yellow. Maybe because the fog had arrived as well. It was dark and yellow at 3:00 and stayed that way. Smoke from the Indians fire made it all the way up here - the fire is about 2 hours away (we were just hiking there a couple of weeks ago). Ash all over everything now. There have been two fires in the Santa Cruz mountains so far this year (we had lots of smoke from the first of those as well). So many fires this year! And it is still only just the beginning of the dry season.

Nancy... I hear ya, it is a little unnerving seeing all these fires this early in the season. We actually had smoke here a few weeks ago from the Summit Fire in the Santa Cruz mountains, it was so heavy one day I had a little trouble going outside, it was hard to breathe.

I've been thinking of you lately... hoping you and you family are safe!

Thank you everyone for your kind words! :)
