We use a water softener in my house, which basically filters your water through salt and some machine to remove certain minerals like Calcium and Magnesium to reduce the "hardness" of your water. I've been trying to use water from the pump outside(isn't softened) but sometimes I accidently forget. So I know that he has consumed a small amount of the softened water. He is still acting completely normal, eating 8-10 small crickets a night, remains active, and still has regular bowel movements. However, i'm still worried about him. I was wondering if any other people have water softeners, and if so, do they use their softened water with their gecko?

That's totally fine. Soft water is safe.

I can speak on the spring water. It isn't chemically treated. I have been using straight spring water in my 55 gallon aquarium for YEARS. I also use spring water for my leos water and to mist his moist hide. Now if you got Distilled or Purified water, those are chemically treated and stuff.

Distilled is caused by collecting steam, there are no chemicals used. Purified water is a vague term that can cover anything from distilled to reverse osmosis which uses no chemicals at all (best for aquariums). Spring water is purified with different methods depending on the source. Some use chlorine and chloramines, some use healthier methods. Just to be safe, you can avoid it or treat it.
