I have used no humid hide with one of my geckos for a couple years and he has had no problems shedding. Do I really need one?

no you don't Designer Geckos has done a study on it and says no. They also say if you see the gecko shedding or needs help put wet paper towels in their environment and take them out when done.

I find mine enjoy laying in theirs when they arent even shedding. Even if they dont 'need' them, why not add one? Doesnt hurt.

I have a stack of humid hides in the corner of my gecko room. Whenever I see one of them turning dark or grey I throw one in their and spray it down. They are usually back to their bright colors the next night.

I find mine spend more time in their humid hidenthan anywhere. It may not be needed but neither is a couch but you have one because you like it.

I give all my geckos humid hides and most of them use it alot. I also see them drinking the condensation off the inside of the humid hide more than I see them drink from there water bowls.

My leos use their humid hide a lot and my female always lays her eggs in it as well. A friend of mine's daughter had never heard of a humid hide and her gecko just died after three years. Was it because of a lack of a humid hide? Probably not, but it was some kind of respitatory issue possibly related to humidity (or lack of). Bob
