is this a gecko and ifso what kind?

I got this little guy/girl last week and was told it was a crested gecko. After posting the picture and doing more research i found it is not a crested gecko as the guy told me it was when i picked it up. It was a free reptile so I took it. Now I have no idea what exactly I got. Can anyone tell me what type of lizard this is.

yep, im in dfw and had about 25 of these that i caught in a 10 gallon. they are an introduced species and non native. a lot of snake breeders/keepers buy these guys frozen to scent mice. compared to how mine look though, he's a little skinny. quarter inch crix and small mealies will get him fat in no time.
