Hello, today i was looking to buy a male gecko to put with my females(cant believe im getting so addicted already got 3) and i saw this guy selling his.

here is a pic.

He says that it weights 95grams at the moment, and was 110+ before, the gecko is 2.5years old. He says its 100% het(means?)

I'm just wondering if this is a real giant or just some fat gecko.

Also, would 1 male and 2 females in 1 cage be ok? or is it too much?

thanks

Cant see the picture, But it really matters how long the gecko is not his weight. As for 100% het you'll need to ask the guy what he is het for. Two females in 1 cage is okay, the general rule is 10 gallons per gecko, Just make sure you Quarentine your new gecko for atleast 30 days.

Who he got the gecko from and if he knows the hatch date and parent's morphs might give you a little more insight into whether of not he is actually a giant. If it was from a friend or the pet store he's probably just a normal. That picture doesn't scream giant to me but you never know. It's not uncommon for non-giant males to be that weight at 2+ years old so I would get him if you like him but I probably wouldn't pay too much.

Ok, so i asked him a few more questions, he says that the gecko is around 9inch long, and that it can produce giant rainwater/las vegas or bell albinos, and that its a proven breeder.
He's selling it for 40$..so kinda low if it was a real giant no? And aren't giants longer than that? Sorry for all the questions but im all new to this whole gecko world and got super hooked lol.

He isent a giant if he is only 9in long. Another reason not to buy it is its double het albino which means you'll have a hard time selling the babys and you'll only be creating muts. You can get alot nicer geckos from breeders for about the same price.

I agree with him not being a giant. My giant is 10.5 inches and he's on the small size. If you still are into a giant I'd check out vmsherp. They have some lesser priced giants.

Those answers raise a lot of red flags. That's exactly why you should ask lots of questions! I'm pretty sure he's just a big male, not a giant and being double het Bell and Rainwater actually decreases his value.
