Is this normal?

When ever I go into my room, where I have Grimlock, and if he is out of his cave he will run back in when he sees me coming. I have owned him for about 2 1/2 weeks. Is this normal and is there anything I can do to get him to warm up to me?

Yes, it's normal and the best thing you can do is to keep talking to him and give him time.

hes still getting use to everything still so give him time and handle him often

Totally normal. In fact, when I put my leo in a bigger tank about a year ago, he started doing that because he was so thrown off. Just give him time to realize that you're not going to eat him.

I find this to speed up the process of the gecko "trusting"
you. First....hands cleaned and rinsed good... ..Water on your fingers...hand palm down and touching the cage flooring, so if it does strike you....you won't flinch and disturb him or her more. Move your hand slowly toward it. Slowly! Until you touch the tip of the nose....if it strikes it gets a drink! If you touch it, it gets a drink! So it associates your hand in its home as a good sign. In no time it will not strike you. .......After it starts eating.....the same hand work and afterward feed him or her. Same reward principle as training any puppy.(I find a treat of 1 wax worm works great)
And believe me "Geckos are smart and quick to learn things." It will be climbing on the back of your hand with out fear very quickly, if you can spend the time for it..I have one adult male that climbs on the back of my hand, up my arm, to my shoulder, to the back of my neck, to the top of my head and rides with me to the post office to pick up his wax worms. He rides on my head, under my ball cap .He always gets his fill of waxies after the trip. If he does the climb thing and we are not getting a package, he gets the treat anyway.
