So today I got home from school and as usual I do the weekly weigh in of my 5 geckos. My high yellow female with a carrot tail weighed in at 53 grams!! My age unknown male HTCT weighed in at 45 so i put them together a few minutes ago, and he got straight to work no time to waste!!:main_yes: He mounted her twice. I just have a question about how long do they do the "Dirty" work for? He got on for like 2 minutes, and actually got under her tail for about 15 seconds and he was done, he got off and started cleaning his "man sauce"

Oh my goodness. I think I need to take a cold shower after reading your post :main_laugh:

2 minutes and 15 seconds is all any man really needs...
I'm sure he took care of what he needed to. ;)

Yep, they'll usually fair better separated and she's been fertilized so no need to keep them together any longer :D lol

This thread seemed like some dirty gecko porn...lol. I think it really depends on the set-up you have whether or not you need to separate them. I have a big set-up and don't take my male out. There hasn't been any issues, but I will take him out after breeding season to give the females some rest.

Well I have a 20 long, but if I put her back in the 40 breeder I'm scared that one of the other geckos might trample her eggs or the other ovulating female will lay first and I will think that she was infertile. So how long does it usually take for the eggs to come? :D

Would you guys know if the time between copulation and laying is correlated in any way to the time time between laying clutches? That would be interesting, and a very worthwhile thing to observe I think.

Cheers,
-Matt

So, today one of my other females dug her moist hide way high so should I check it and dig around, and if I do do I try to put the dirt how it was before?

I would check it, but if the box has a see through bottom pick it up to see where the eggs are that way you know where to dig and when to expect to get to them.
