...to think that alot of the medicines that we use for ourselves, we use for our geckos and other reptiles. For example: We use anti-fungle stuff on eggs, neosporin on the geckos, advil(?) in marcia's slurry, and other such medicins in certain things or for healing. Don't you think it is a bit strange to use people meds on reptiles?

advil(?) in marcia's slurry
My slurry recipe does NOT have any Advil in it...

As far as the other medications go, antibiotics kill certain strains of bacteria, even if it is for non-humans. Anti-fungal meds kill fungus, no matter what the fungus grows on. Makes sense to me!

hey if it works, why not? :)

but I know what you mean, what I do think is strange are how dogs and cats can be on anti-depressants just like people.. not saying that I don't understand why, it just boggles my mind

It's "Acidophilus"full name is Lactobacillus acidophilus

It is
A bacteria that lives in the intestines which stimulates the growth of beneficial gut bacteria

Acidophilus also manufactures some B-vitamins, especially folic acid

Antibiotics often kill this off along with the infections thst they are made to fight

It's good stuff!

:D

What's really strange to me is when you think about how small that dose of Baytril is for an 80 gram gecko, as opposed to an 80lb canine, as opposed to the average 160 lb human being! That's really crazy to me!
