I would be VERY leery of buying an enigma from a pet shop, since they are known to have neurological disorders. That's just me though, maybe others have a different opinion.. *shrug*

I definitely agree with Ozy on this. If the gecko does show signs of Enigma Syndrome it might be hard for you to take care of if you don't have any experience with caring for an Enigma Syndrome gecko. It can range from twitching and odd head tilts to spinning in circles, flipping on their backs, and choking.

If anything you can watch them and see how they act, but in some cases Enigma Syndrome can randomly pop up. I've read a few sad stories of geckos who never showed symptoms then spazzed out. One of the worst I heard was a gecko who in mid shed had an episode in mid-shed and choked on shed. But mind you these cases are few between and only a small number show these major symptoms but it should still be something you are aware of!

Enigmas can be very normal and never show a single sign all their lives just be aware issues can arise and it can be very dangerous for the gecko.

Just so you all know, not all enigmas show problems. The ones I have act totally normal and are super healthy. Just buy from a good breeder who will disclose any issues.

Well from what I've read around (best example being what I mentioned above) :geckos can never show a single sign then one day, whether due to stress or otherwise it can start coming up.

The general consensus that I've seen (once again based on user experience, there is hardly any research I could find on the Syndrome) is that stress can bring it out in any Enigma.
