I was just wondering how healthy this is. I've seen some people keep males and females together (well, male and female(s) ). If the male and female(s) get along, as in, don't stress each other out, then is it okay to keep them together? Even if they produce eggs? Or should males and females be kept together ONLY for breeding purposes and not to save room on tanks?

I have a male female pair that are kept together yearround. My male is pretty mild though ve seen him get along with ther males for up to periods of months in the same tanks. This said pair has also had eggs and each gecko is as healthy as could be. It depends on the temperment of each individual gecko mainly the male.

I keep my males and females together during breeding season. However, I have one tank with a male and 2 "retired" female breeders. One of the breeders never produced much and I think she hasn't really ovulated the last year or so (she's 7). THe other spends nearly all her time in her magnet hide. The male does try to mate with them somewhat during breeding season and if he gets too obnoxious I have room to separate, but mostly they get along, and the male spends a lot of time trying to dig out of the cage when he's alone. So far I have gotten no eggs from this group and don't expect to.

Ah, well that all makes sense. I figured it was probably more of a case by case basis, but I wanted to be sure in case I decide to get a male and possibly house him with Tiamat if she'll tolerate him.

I'm quite excited! Readiing Break is coming up and I'll surely have a new gecko by the end of it! *dances*
