Ok, this is my first leopard gecko ive had so, I dont know much about them and am in need of help.we just bought him and he apparently just shed, but he seems to have some unshed skin on his right foot that doesn't look normal. It looks like there is a puss pocket (blister) right above the foot and he seems to be limping. (i looked it up and didnt find anything yet, except a calcium pocket, but i dont think thats it) What can I do to help my new little guy, he's sooo cool! Any help/advice would be much appreciated!!

Ooh, poor little guy. That doesn't look good, whatever it is, and definitely stuck shed. Try giving him a soak and coaxing the shed off with a q-tip, see if you can get the skin off. How's his behaviour otherwise? Has he eaten yet, or still settling in?

Well I soaked him in some warm water. At first he sort of freaked out, because hes only been at my house for a couple minutes. Once he felt the water he just sat there, and we got it off. But you can definately see how tight it was on and how bad his leg was constricted, i hope he gets better, losing a couple toes is better than half a leg. Hes still settling in, but he seems to be acting normally. A cricket would walk past him and he would stare at it for a while, but he wouldnt go after it, he must not be hungry.

He may not eat for a few days as he settles in. Keep an eye on his foot. If he still has the lump (it's hard to tell from the picture what's shed and what's a lump) he will need to go to the vet because it may be an infection. Keep us posted.

I can't tell from the pictures if you have one or not, but make sure he has a damp hide on the warm side of the tank so that a recurrence of this sort of thing is less likely.

I think it's great that you have him now...where did you get him, a petstore?
(Remember petstores remain unnamed, you can use st*rs.)

Definitely keep us posted, I'd like to see how it looks after it heals.
Best wishes to your new bud and welcome to leopard geckos!
They're somewhat addictive, you have been warned. ;)

it depends on the age, i have juvis that are shedding every couple weeks and adults who shed once a month. it just depends. a humid hide can be a tupperware with a hole cut in the side with a wet paper towel in it
