ok actually tonight I'm going to leave it off, the COOL side is 80 right now it's so hot in the apartment (my apartment is 80 and they shut off the AC). There are only a few cool spots left under 80 right now so I don't want to roast her in there. I'll get a thermostat and then leave it on 24/7 thanks for the advice

(don't worry I'm using a rheostat right now the UTH isn't just in there by itself)

I guess you are not aware of the logic behind it. It's recommended to be left on 24/7 because they need the belly heat for digestion since they eat at night. Just the UTH, floor heat.

hmm ok I went and put it on low then for now, once thermostat arrives that should be easier I guess. It's cooling down outside finally so hopefully my apartment gets back to the low 70s lol thanks again for the help

I guess I was confused because everything I read said night temps should be low to mid 70's but I guess that makes sense if they're mostly out at night that you still want a warm spot for them to digest.

your welcome:)

Strange isn't it? I just provide 75-95 24/7 so that he can choose. The funny thing is that at night is when he spends most of the time in the 90 degree hide.

Just wanted to come back here and say thanks again everyone who suggested raising the temps at night. what a difference it made!! She was walking around all night last night, going over to the warm side and then exploring. Definitely the most active I've ever seen her! Still haven't had a newer stool (she only ate yesterday so I'm sure it will come soon lol) so I don't know what the deal is yet with that, but shes way more active now, so I'm getting a lot more optimistic.

Also here's a picture of my setup pretty much in its entirety, let me know if you have any suggestions, if I should add anything

:main_yes: I feel she is doing well and will continue that way. She just needed some time and heat. I think her setup looks good.

so everything seems to be going well still, she's eating normally and finally slept somewhere besides the moist hide so I think she's acclimating well, however she still hasn't pooped again. It's been about 3-4 days since her last stool is it normal for them to go so little?

Depends on how much and how often you are feeding. What has she eaten so far?

I will when she wakes up from her daily hibernation lol she never comes out until night time.

I just read up on impaction she's not showing any other signs, she's not lethargic (still frantically chases the laser on my temp gun, runs out as soon as I present food), no vomiting

was 10 mealworms too much possibly? (they're small mealworms and she seemed like she still wanted more...)

EDIT: I took a look in her hide she's awake so I shot a quick video, just a few seconds I dont want to bother her. From what I can see she doesn't have any lumpy stomach and she's holding her self upright just fine. I'm uploading video now

There's still cocofiber in the moist hide, I haven't had a chance to clean it out yet (whenever i have free time she's always in it, it's only the last 2 day's she's really even left it). Will probably change to paper towel by the weekend

sorry its not very clear it's hard to shoot through glass into the little hole
