I did my best with bidding on several auctions Pat. Empire Reptiles will donate again for any future auctions. This is for a great cause and its sad that more people didnt bid.

You have to have reserves on some of these auctions. The idea of this auction is to raise money for a great cause. Not for people to just get the best deals out there.

I agree. It's a great cause, but most people are looking to get a good deal while supporting a good cause.

The reserves were fine, there was some pretty great items and the reserves were low. My only suggestion next time would to post a bid increment, stops people from just bidding up by a dollar every time.

I think Facebooks new format killed it as well. There were several donors that you couldn't even see unless you clicked on a link. That's garbage if you ask me. Maybe it was also because of tax season, I don't know. I do know that people lost out on some great deals to get some nice animals for nearly half off or more. The only thing I did notice that went great was the rack. Whoever bought it paid more than if they would have got it directly from Cserpents. That's awesome for the auction. Too bad more people didn't do that with the other ones.

Might have to revamp a little Pat. I've got a few ideas that I can bounce off you for next time if you decide to give it another shot.

I agree. I had trouble finding some of the auctions because of the timeline.
I wish I would have remembered that it was ending tonight or I would have bid!

I completely agree with this, i had to go through the pics to find the auctions, i hate the timeline thing, but im pretty excited that i got a 500 dollar TUG gift card for half the price c:

I agree that Facebook made it very difficult to follow. Helter skelter, to say the least. I think you're better off building your own forum on Killcrypto.com and just using Facebook as a promotional tool. There are also auction plug-ins for Wordpress that you could probably implement fairly easily. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-auctions/

Just some suggestions. I apologize for not bidding; now is just not the right time for me. And it would be better if all of the gift cards explicitly state any terms, such as "only good for..." or expiration dates, or "good for any 2012 offspring"... whatever.

It was stated in the rules that with the gift cards only animals that are on the donors web page under available reptiles is what you can use the gift cards on and that shipping was an extra charge.

It may be that the time line crap stopped bidders from bidding but it wast real hard to just click and all the rest of the auctions popped up but time line does suck! Not much you can do about that.

Yup I bid on and won both of the auctions I donated. Its for a great cause and I have no problem donate money to it. Plus now I can go pick out $100 worth of my geckos and keep them all to myself, lol!

All you had to do is go to Kill Crypto's photos and you could have seen ALL the items up for bid. Really not that difficult at all... :main_huh:
