Kill Crypto Update 5/25/2012
As of today we have had 3 geckos go from a continuous positive outcome for cryptosporidium on PCR to a continuous Negative on PCR under the protocols we have developed in the project. Two out of three geckos were totally clear from the crypto organism on histopath, with the third gecko having decreased numbers of organisms(still showing a positive treatment effect). We will continue with our set protocol and monitor appetite, behavior, clinical signs, and possible effects from the drug/drugs being used. PCR tests are continually performed on a weekly basis, which will remain our number one budget item. This report is not intended to be used as result of the research, which is still pending. It is still necessary to further investigate the primary protocols. It is estimated that it will be sometime in the year 2013 that the project is completed and a paper published.
We will answer what questions we can here, but do not be offended if some questions can not be answered at this time. We will NOT answer any questions about the treatment protocol or drugs being used, so please respect our decision to not release that information yet. And please do not have your vet contact us for the protocol for we will not release it yet, for we need more information.
