I have an odd predicament that im hoping you might have an answer for. I bred a female to my male back in May, I never got anything out of her so I figured she didnt take. I came hometonight and found she had laid eggs. Should I mark these as from the breeding in may? Or would it be too long? The only other thing i can think of is she was housed with another male of mine for just a few weeks when we had to move and i had no choice, but he isnt quite to breeding age yet.He would have been only around 7 months and around 35 grams. Ive never come across this situation, usually they start laying within a few weeks and its odd enough this late in the year.

A male most certainly can breed at 35g. The delayed laying could have simply been from the stresses of moving. Don't mark the eggs with any sire information yet because you simply wont know. You could get clutches from either sire because she could have stored sperm from the original male too. Just wait until they hatch and ID the babies then you will know the father.

Thank you for your response. I feel like an idiot letting this happen, but we had no choice in moving and you gotta do what ya gotta do.
