My female laid her first clutch in the lay box, but they are infertile. The past few eggs, she has been way off, and I didn't catch the eggs in time. She lays the in the oddest spots. I don't want to keep losing the eggs.
:(

Any advice?

That's interesting, Halley, I didn't know that. I may have to try and re-breed Morgan as she's been laying on the tile behind her lay box :main_rolleyes:...couldn't hurt

heh, one of our geckos laid only 2 eggs in her lay box...both of which just recenly hatched. the other eggs she likes to lay in random spots as well...and her favortie would be on her fake plant.

Found an egg today, with a bullseye.
Bad news was, it had a hole or rip in it and the fluid was all over the tile.

That's sad news. Were you able to salvage it at all or was it too far gone?

I lost my first potential Enigma RAPTOR egg before I started dealing with the problem female by temporarily confining her in her lay box when she nears laying time. When I got to the first one, it was 25% of proper volume. Ever since, I have kept an especially close eye on her to avoid a repeat situation.

If your females are "dumping" eggs off in random spots, this is usually a good indication that you are not offering a proper lay spot... If the conditions are not right in they lay box (temp and humidity level), they will just drop them anywhere just to unload them... If your temps are too high/too low, or if the humidity is too high/too low, they will not nest...

Alright, I'll try to change the conditions in the lay box. I think it just needs more humidity, because I can't think of anything else to do.
