so, this male is my avatar pic, his name is sunny-d. We are trying to breed him, and unfortunately he is not very eager to breed to say it nicely. He's housed alone, and any attempts to introduce a female just seem to bother him. He's not interested, how can I make him interested!!!!!

HOw is he showing he's bothered? Is he aggressive, running and hiding, twitching his tail? Some of my males try to mate as soon as they're introduced but with one in particular I have rarely seen him try to mate but he's got a good fertile egg record. Maybe your male will mate when you're not around to watch.

What he does is "lock on" to the freshly introduced female as if she is a snack, then he'll bite her once and then ignore her pretty much for days. I have another male that I don't really see breed but he has a great fertility record.

It may seem as if he's ignoring her, but unless you're watching him all night, there's no way to know. I have a male SS who I've seen approach the females once and never seen mate, yet so far the females in with him have produced 8 babies. Leave him in with the females and check them in a few weeks to see if they have eggs (check them beforehand to see if they're ovulating)
