I have always kept my adults in 20 gallon longs and my hatchlings in 10 gallons and recently when I was cleaning out one of the adults cages I put him in a ten gallon while I was cleaning. Until than I greeted with the rule 10th gallon per gecko even though I have never tired it with adults but when I put my adult in the ten gallon it looked so stressed out there was hardly and space for him ( no offense to anyone that houses there adults in 10 gallons. This is just my opinion.) So now I completely disagree with that rule. Please keep in mind this is just my opinion. Thank you

I think it parshilly relies on the overall size of the adult. Some are really just small, some are HUGE. The there are some that are the most laid back geckos ever, and others that like to do laps around the tank. I had Rango in a 10gal until she hit 7", then i relized she simply was too big for it, she was always at the glass. Moved her into a 20 standard, much better, it gives them plenty of space imo.

I keep all my adults in 10 gallons.
They all have half a level, and lots of floor space.
I do however have a female in a 20 gallon, because I had one available. She doesnt even use half of it. She sticks to one side, since she has no use for the other.

I find a lot of racks to have tubs that have a smaller footprint than a 10.
IMO, geckos don't do a lot of roaming in the wild, if they have food and shelter, they stay in one spot.

My adults are each in 20 gallons, and the baby is in a 10. Clementine needs the 20. She runs, and climbs, and leaps after insects. Echo probably doesn't, he's not terribly active, but 10 gallons just seems so small for a gecko his size.
