OK so its been like 4 months since I put my male and my female together my male has tried as I`ve seen and the female just runs away and bites and now there just getting along no attempts of breeding or anything I see no eggs and no signs of copulation or eggs??? No I Have not done the cool down should I like separate them and then do the cool-down and then put them together.
This is really hard I`ve been struggling with the mating for a long time.

Also, for the egg incubation what do you recommend hatch rite or ....

Well separate them then... I recomend perlite or vermiculite i have hatched on bolth. In the 2011 breeding season I well be trying hatchrite (because you dont need to add water) and super hatch.

It's pretty late in the season for pairings, at this point I would just seperate them and try again next year. She may just be past her ovulation point. I don't personally cool my leos, but some people do and swear by it, so you could try a winter cool down and introduce next season.

As far as incubation goes, I'm going to assume you don't really have experience with incubation so I would go with hatchrite, it takes the guess work out of it and is a good starting point for inexperienced breeders.

I have eggs on the way and I'll be using vermiculite. The 3 containers I have set up and tested for the last 2 weeks are doing fine. once you get the hang of it, its easy to get the mix right. The main thing is to remember with vermiculite to add 0.80g of water to every 1g of vermiculite.

How old is your female? Some geckos just seem to have short breeding lives. I still have my original 2 breeding females. One I got as a "proven" 2 1/2 year old (she's 8 now). I bred her to my proven male and got only a few infertile eggs. I bred her that same season to another male and got 3 hatchlings. The next season I bred her to the original male and got 2 hatchlings and that's it. My other female produced 10 babies her first season, fewer her second season and then just stopped ovulating at the advanced age of about 3. You may need to try with a different female.
