Leopard Gecko Licking Humid Hide

Hi, All! I've got a beautiful female leopard gecko (born June 2011, and I've had her ever since) who has just done something I've never seen her do before. Last night, she retreated into her humid hide (damp paper towels in a tupperware with a cut-out entrance/exit) & was still there this AM (not abnormal for her). Before work, I cleaned her water bowl & then added some water to re-moisten the paper towels. As soon as the water spread across the hide, she started licking the wet paper towels. She's never had any trouble using her water bowl, so I'm wondering if she's just being lazy - has anyone ever experienced this before with their leo?

Thank you in advance!
Ruby xx

P.S. I've attached some recent photos of my girl =)

Nice chunky looking gecko! If for some reason she's really into her humid hide (it happens) and she's thirsty and there's water right there, why not?
