Alright I have 5 leopard geckos. I had a pair in a 15G tank and 3 in a 20. I just bought a cube 24"L/24"W/ 12"t. Can I put all 5 in this tank or is this alittle over crowded?? There are 3 or 4 males and 1 female..

Morph Thanks for the heads up. I'm not 100% sure if they are males. I was told they were males but thats all I know.. They don't show any signs of aggression towards each other and they have been together for 4 months. I seperate them so the pair is in the 20G and the 3 are in a 24" by 24" cube. Are you saying they 3 need to be in a 60G tank?? I want whats best for these lizards so any suggestions would be helpful.. Within 5 minutes of the post they went to war.

The males should definitely be separated. People differ about how much space a gecko needs but a 24x24x12 is definitely too small for 5 geckos. In my opinion it is OK to keep a single gecko in a 10 gallon tank although some people feel that this is too small. I also feel that 2 geckos in a 20 gallon long (30x12) is fine. I keep 3-4 geckos in a 20 long, but I have a 12"x12" second level to provide more space. I think you should figure out for sure how many males and how many females you have (I'm assuming these are young geckos since you're not sure about one, and possibly they are so young that the males are not bothering each other yet, but they most likely will). Then, put all the females, up to 3, although 2 would be better, in the cube. If you have 2 males, put 1 in the 20 and 1 in the 15. If you have more than 2 males, look into buying stacking cages from glasscages.com which, if you can get them delivered, are the best deal.

you can have 3 females in a 20gal long tank which measures 30" long 12" high 12" deep. If you a keeping them seperate then 1 Leo can be in a 10 gal tank. Myself I prefer 1 or 2 to a 20 gal long but 3 will be ok as long as they each have a moist hide and each have a normal hide.
