leopard gecko, UBV and the vet

i took my leo to the vets and the vet told me that my leo is ill because of a lack of uvb lighting, now ive had leos for a long time a good few years and ive never had any problems with lack of uvb and ive looked online and its said that leos dont need it so do they like need a small amount?

yeah they get loads dusted food every night, and a bowl in with him, but ive got 5 leos and he is the only one that is having this problem

The question I have is what do you mean by ill? Is that not eating, thin, or both? Did the vet do a fecal exam? Please give a little background and a picture of the gecko if you can. You also may have better luck finding a vet who specializes in reptiles if you can.
