I’m 15, with complete realiance on my parents for food for me geckos. For the past 2 weeks they haven’t touched their food at all. Pls note that I don’t have any live meal worms for them, as neither of parents will go out of their way to help me get them their food. What should I do???

I think it will make a difference if you can give them live food. If they don't eat the live food I would take them to the vet. You could also try to make it look like the food is moving. (the non-living food)

Honestly, i think live food works best for geckos. Also, some geckos may be picky so it may just be tired of mealworms, so i highly recommend buying your own gecko food from reptile websites. Dubias and crickets are great staple feeders.

I agree you should see if your parents will let you get mealworms or crickets by mail. If not, feel free to have them read this thread and specifically my post. I'm a parent to 3 children, currently in their 20's and 30's. When they were younger and still living at home, I often had to make decisions about their interests and desires. I felt it my job to support what they wanted to do financially and with encouragement within reason. So if they wanted to take flying lessons and buy a plane, then that wasn't something I had the resources to support, but if they wanted to learn to play an instrument that I could afford to buy for them, it was my obligation to help them plan how and when to practice and encourage them to take it seriously. I feel that you appear to be trying to care for your leopard geckos appropriately and, unless there is financial hardship (in which case you may actually need to give your geckos up), it would be good if you could get that support.

On another note, I also have 2 cats. I have met people who would like to bring up their cats as vegetarians, but cats aren't vegetarians and cannot survive without meat. If I were to insist that my cats be vegetarians, they will not survive. Leopard geckos will not eat non live food and will not survive unless they are provided with what they need to live on, just like cats.
