We're finally seeing some strong progess in our Lavender Bell projects! We've been pioneering the Lavender Bells since about 2004, taking two steps forward - one step back, until last season. A few of crosses from the past season have us very excited about the future of the Lavender Bells.

First up, our Linebred Snow Lavender Bells. We're showing off our hold back male, "Etch". He's the product of a Linebred Snow/Fasciolotus het Lav Bell crossed with a big Lavender Bell female. I love how white and lavender this guy has remained (almost an adult now).

Here he is as a hatchling:

Now grown up:

Another project we're really excited about are our Extreme Lavender Radars. Here's a quick peak at one of our males. We'll do another thread on this project soon...

Your definitely taking the Bells into a different direction. They look sweet! Are the LBS genetics helping in keeping the lavender more pronounced then the mack gene or is it just the snow gene you decided to mix with the lav bells? Either way it looks like your on the right path.

I know how hard it is to give bells a clear & light lavender-look.
your male is definitely one of a kind..

Thanks Michelle, Kristi, Justin, and Rebecca!

Justin, I just kind of lucked into that one. I had a huge Linebred Snow Fascio male (originally produced by Albey) that I crossed into the Lavender Bells, mainly to bring in more size...and hoping for a bit more lavender influence from the Fascio. I didn't know the Line-bred snow trait would be so powerful. Two out of six offspring from the breeding hatched pure white and lavender. I was thrilled watching them grow because the white didn't fade to yellow or khaki (as it usually does with other snow bells).
I think the combo of Linebred Snow and Fascio really helped increase the overall lavender appearance. Hopefully this season will bring even more lavender ;-)

It does seem the the LBS has an over-all lighter base color then most other snows. You definitely don't see that bright or dull yellow you see most of the time. Do you think the fasciolatus genetics had anything to do with the lavender as well? Thanks for answering my questions.

What I love about this is that it proves there is still so many possibilities with the morphs that we have out there right now. Can't wait to see what comes this season from your Bell Lavender project. Looking really good so far!

Also would love to see some more pics of your Tang Bells sometime soon!

Very nice paul. These pics do no justice to the extreme lav radars in person. I'm looking forward to this year you hitting those odds with the Gem Radar, you'll have to send me a female from that project to go with the Lav Radar male i got from ya ;)

Looking good Paul! Come a long way since the blue days... ;) I'm glad you've held this project close through the cuts the past couple of years...

Can't wait to see the ones you're sending...

Thanks for the kind words everyone...it's very encouraging.

Justin, I do think the fascio helped with the lavender. I haven't worked with many fascios...but the ones I've owned have expressed a lot of lavender as adults. I wish I still had that original male. He was around 128 grams and gorgeous!

More Bell project pictures coming soon...

Geckos Ahhhhhh Yes

Certainly a great unique, attractive
look and color.
And the information on the breedings was
very interesting.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care. HJ
