Location of Humid Hide

Should the humid hide be on the side with the UTH or on the cooler side?

I put mine on the warm side. There are lots of threads about this on here, search the forums for "humid hide" or "moist hide" and it should turn stuff up for you.

Actually the humid hide should be on the cool side for a few reasons...

1- The humid hide will stay humid longer...

2- You do not want to make the humid hide inviting to the gecko. The only time a humid hide should be utilized is during shed or for laying eggs... Too much time spent in the humid hide can cause skin issues as well as URIs...

3- Assuming your cage temps are correct and are in the low to mid 80's on the cool end, this will be the more sort after temp range for leos to lay eggs... If the hide is in the hot spot 90 degrees or more, the gecko may choose not to lay in the humid hide and "dump" her eggs elsewhere...

Oh, I always forget that Puzzle is an AFT, not a Leo and he needs more humid conditions. I need to mention that in these types of situations.

Like I said, I would make it less inviting as possible... The hide should be in the low to mid 80's range...

It's hard to remember because the care for both kinds is like almost exactly the same except the humidity thing. But the humidity thing is very bad for the leos, and I forget that while my little Puzzle is ok being a lazy bum in his humid hide 24/7, if a leo did that it would get really sick.
