Longest lived

Hey guys. I was holding my brothers leopard gecko today who is now 7 years old and that got me thinking. What was the longest one of your leopard geckos have lived? And what sex was/is it? I currently only have 2 juvies so I can't really contribute.

Well, probably the oldest one I have is the one I buy for Thad, Lil T I think he's from 2006, so 3 years..

I heard the oldest one is a male gecko that almost reached 30 years old; I started keeping mine from 02, so most of mine are 7 years old now...I wish they'll never die....

My oldest pair are well over 11-12 years old. A lot of my geckos are getting old now... some coming up on 10 years. My vet has had a pair for over 20 years!

Do they change much as they get older?
Anything that makes they appear older?, I don't know much about older reptiles.

thanks for the replies. does anyone know if one gender lives longer than the other if no breeding were to take place during their lifetime?

I don't think there is a gender difference. The oldest gecko I've heard of was 27. I have two that are 16+, one male, one female. The look pretty much the same as my younger ones, though the scales seem to get larger and rougher, somewhat discolored, the skin kind of saggy. The male has cataracts or something similar. But they are my best eaters... and the male bites the hardest (actually, the only one that will at all hehe).
