Look What I found!!!! [ANOTHER ONE!!]

So, I took my worm bin out from under my lizard table & found this little guy in there!

Don't know how long he's been in there, I usually just dump food & gel water in the bin. It stays uncovered so he probably just fell in there....but its not like he was going hungry, that's for sure!!! View attachment 41253

Oh, he didn't just fall in. He found the free all you can eat buffet! It's a Mediterranean gecko. They're super common in Texas. We used to have one that helped itself to our cricket bin all the time. Most of the time they live in colonies in the crevices of your house, like in the front porch ceiling, etc.

So.....should I release him back into the apartment? I have roach powder all along the walls & in the cracks & crevices.....I do have a plant on the balcony, but it gets full sun all day & he would probably fry in it....

Also...this just came to mind....if the little gecko had a parasite/parasites & he defecated in my worm bin, then does that mean that my worms could get infected with said parasite? Any thoughts...??

I'm betting that he can climb the sides of the tub and get out if he wants to, ours did. If you're worried about him being in there you can always put him outside some place where he can escape from the sun.

If I had to choose between finding food and water during a drought or living in a mealworm bin, I'd choose the mealworm bin too.

I'm pretty sure they just crawl under the door, there's a gap big enough for 2 full size dubia stacked on top of each other to fit in, no problem.

Don't know what to do with it. He'll probably just end up in there again. My main concern is parasites, could they pass from his poo to the worms?
