This is my new addition, I haven't named her yet "I'm thinking maybe Miss Piggy".

She's a baby female hognose snake. Isn't she adorable?

aint thoughs the ones that are rear fanged and venomus ?

Yeah, their fangs are fixed very far back & require them to basically chew on something to inject it. Also the venom is extremely mild, like at most will cause a little bit of swelling but that's about it. They are also very docile typically too so that helps.

Very cute Hoggy, I think Miss Piggy would be a good name for her ;)

Nice looking Hognose! I would change the substrate is Desert Snow right? I know when it touches water it get's like mass.

Shes gorgeous!! Congratulations!
Is it Easterns or Westerns that adjust better to rodents? (I can never remember)

Yeah i wanted Aspen but couldn't find any at the show i got her so just went with this for now. I'll pick up some better stuff once this is used up, it'll do for now. I really don't like it being so bleach white either...doesn't look natural at all.

Thanks ya'll! Nigel4less is right, Westerns take rodents pretty readily....Miss Piggy has a pretty good appetite, took a 2 pinkies already. I think she may need to go up a size in prey b/c it doesn't even look like they're a bump.

I took some better pics last night (i was not satisfied with the previous ones)

They really are....i just love those little faces and the piggy nose lol.

Getting her has stirred up my interest of colubrids a bit. Now i'm looking at a a couple other species that i had been debating over the last few years. I'm thinking either a false water cobra or mangrove snake. I haven't decided, each seem to have some pros and cons. I'm leaning towards a mangrove atm just out of their sheer beauty.....they look like a bumble bee lol.

And a new addiction is born. :p
Amazing how quickly it happens, eh?

Ain't that the truth! I used to be into large constrictors but for the time being the space requirements are just too much...especially for the ones i want. I've always been curious about certain colubrids but never pulled the trigger, i dunno if i'll be able to resist now.
