Hi, I am trying to find out if there are any leopard gecko breeders in Colorado. Preferably around Colorado but would be willing to drive up to Denver if need be. Not really wanting to buy at the moment but just trying to see if there are any breeders nearby to avoid shipping charges. I have looked at the master list and didn't see anyone on there.

Thanks.

Hi Jenn,

There are several of us here... as already mentioned, Designer Geckos, VMS Herp, Clockwork Reptiles and Exotic Encounter Reptiles, to name a few. I've known Sean and Monica at VMS for over 10 years, and it doesn't get any better. They are near Canon City, so closer to you. Ray at Designer Geckos has been instrumental in helping me return to the hobby after a bit of a hiatus, and his animals are always top notch. The next Rocky Mountain Reptile Expo is the first Saturday in May, and is worth checking out.

I do not personally have any geckos for sale yet, but will have a few Giant RAPTORS, Mack Snows and Tremper Albinos later on this year.

Thanks I was looking at vms. Sadly I will be missing the show in may because my college teacher scheduled a field trip that day.

Thanks for the comments folks. I posted this on the business section tonight as well but thought it was also appropriate here:

Thanks all for these touching and most meaningful comments. I'm stunned and humbled. I just always try to treat others like I myself would like to be treated, but it's nice to know people do appreciate it. That's what makes it all worthwhile for us. It's not about the money. We here are all involved with leos because we love them so much. They are special little critters that have enriched our lives in a very special way.

I just got done trimming and pan frying one of my favorite delicacies, chicken livers! It is a long process and the whole time I was working in the kitchen Ronnie, my TV buddy gecko, was out watching TV on the couch by himself (Carol was already in bed asleep). True story! I didn't even have to check on him. After 30 minutes of cooking I came back in the living room to tell him he was a good boy as he sat on his spot on the couch that whole time, then I went to take my shower. How many reptiles could you entrust like this?! These are amazing animals as you all know. It's why we do what we do at DG. We want others to feel this special connection the way we have. Thanks all. I feel very lucky to be in this great family.

I now know why you are going to keep this TV buddy! :main_yes: Has he always been like this? What a joy this fellow must be.

Hi....I knew from when he was a baby that he would be something special....not only in appearance but in temperament. Those of us who are around a lot of geckos get to know what to look for as far as intelligence, personality, etc.
We work a lot with our collection animals so they develop good personality traits because we feel those traits can transmit to the offspring. Ronnie (named in honor of Ron Tremper) just kind of connected with me, and I've spent a great deal of time working with him. He is super intelligent and friendly, and yes, he does come to me when I call him....and he's only 11 months, so who knows what he will be like in a few years. Maybe I can teach him to roll over and speak!
Moosie, our star Hot Moose Super Giant, is also a lot like Ronnie. Very smart and friendly. The key is though, not only having a good quality animal, but spending the time with them, especially when they are young. These are smart animals and if you put the effort into training them they really bond to you. As I said, like a dog in a lizard's body.

Fun with geckos....
