Looking to adopt a Leopard gecko as a pet

Hi, all!

Been looking to own a leopard gecko for a while now, but I don't want to buy from a major pet store. I'm in New Jersey and I can't seem to find any vendors or any shelters with leopard geckos. I've researched them and feel I could provide a good home for a leopard gecko.

I just want a leopard gecko as a pet. Not interested in breeding. I just want one to hang out with at my apartment while I study or do work.

Where in NJ are you? Can you travel at all? There is a reptile show in White Plains, NY on Sat. Nov. 2. You will definitely be able to find a healthy gecko there for a reasonable price. I live in Boston and do travel to NJ occasionally but don't have anything planned at the moment. Also contact "stager" on this forum who lives in NJ.
