How many geckos through you keeping career have you lost, and how many how you recovered? Right now I am 1 lost and 0 recovered but I am still looking, he only left a few days ago. Why would they want to leave food, water, warmth and security? Gar!

Believe it or not...... I lost a 15 foot albino labyrinth burm once for 2 months in my previous house due to a roommate's friend's son being defiant and opening the cage door anyway when told DEFINATELY DON'T OPEN THE CAGES, but sure feel free to take a look in my reptile room(30x50 finished basement). I noticed him missing the next day and found him in my second floor spare bedroom 2 months later. How does a 140 pound snake hide and show up 2 floors up is a mystery to me :main_huh:

BTW....That kid never set foot in my home again :main_angry:

Never lost any other reptiles

I have lost about 5, not counting those who were missing for just a few hours or overnight (nearly all the time they're under the couch). Three of these were found. One of the 2 not found was a week-old hatchling whose cage a cat knocked over.l

LOL! Paul, someone near me lost, I think it was a burm and people saw it going down road. He never caught it yet, I think it is like 12 feet. I will try to find the news article, its everywhere on the news.

We've lost quite a few due to various reasons. Mostly because the person who was taking care of our geckos while we were away on vacation didn't puch the bins back in all the way. We found everyone though...:)

Lost five croc gecko twice Leopard gecko twice and a house gecko. Found the croc both times within a matter of hours. The leopard gecko was gone for about 2 weeks both times. The house gecko was loose for six months :stunned: It would appear every once in a while but i could never catch it Little bugger was fast finally after the six months i looked in my fooseball table and it looked like it died over night.

The article is here. It was a python, maybe a ball python? But he seemed to say it was a little bigger. Lil_katiedan, that is how I lost mine this time, they left it open. Gar!

That's a crazy story! Please keep us updated if the snake is found!

Also, good luck finding your little gecko, I'm sure you'll find it when/where you least expect it!
