No idea what happened, she was fine last night, then I found her on her back today and she died shortly after.

Sorry to here that Tony! Get on the horn to Mike Novy for some input .

I didn't talk to Mike, but I did consult Dr Frye and a couple other knowledgeable froggers but nobody could come up with anything beyond a freak occurrence like a stroke or cardiac arrest. They all agreed that my husbandry was spot on, and the other 8 frogs in the group are perfectly fine. I'll definitely hit Mike up when I'm ready for more Xanthics, but that may be a while because I'm setting aside most of my frog money for the Understory import of Agalychnis (Hylomantis) lemur.

No doubt your husbandry is spot on from me. I had a male albino and 2 female Xanthic a few years ago, but couldn't get viable eggs. Same happened to me with a female too :(

Did you notice that your Xanthics seemed more vulnerable to heat stress? I noticed last summer during a heat wave that mine would start to look stressed in the high 80s, while my normals did ok even with short trips into the mid 90's. I'm running AC this year, but I have to wonder if maybe she fell asleep right under the lights and managed to overheat herself.

Never really noticed, but my house hardly ever gets above 78. That could be what happened?

So sorry to hear of your loss Tony. They are so cool looking .
