Those look really bad.

I have only had my gecko for 2 weeks but i have already bin bitten by the little bugger 8 times but never as bad as that. Thing is though my gecko seems to have gotten it into its head that when it bites the hand mealworms fall from the sky lol.

Umm...Maybe it's just me...But what are you doing to your gecko for it to attach on to your lips?? I'm sorry but kissing a gecko is just asking for trouble. I don't care if you've had one for 15 years. I don't feel sorry if someone receives a bite that way. Your gecko doesn't understand the concept of a "kiss" it probably is stressed and thinks you're trying to eat it! What do you think will happen?! None of my lizards ever get that close to my face, you just can't trust them. Other then that, the other bites are more understandable. I have not had any bite that bad from a reptile, yet. I've handled a lot...from geckos - monitors. The worse bite so far, was feeding a raspberry to a adult male iguana. On the other hand I've been whipped by tails, when that comes from a 6' plus animal, in the stomach, it hurts!

umm... that's just how i show affection. none of my geckos have bitten me (yet) and even if they did, i know it's just their way of saying "hey i love you too but kiss me again and you're getting the death roll :main_evilgrin:" so either way, i'm still going to kiss my geckos every day because i love them. even though people think they might not show affection that way, they seem pretty darn happy to me when i say "REXY!!!!" so, as for now, i kiss my geckos. i'll be sure to post pictures when they bite my face off... if that ever happens.

A lot of people try to kiss their animals.
A lot of people get their faces mauled.
What I don't get is people who try to kiss parrots.
Or rodents.
Do you *want* to lose an eye?

I actually have a rose breasted cockatoo that, if you don't kiss him, will climb on your face whispering repeatedly "gimme kiss". I also have a macaw that if you don't watch out will slip you the tongue yuck!

:laugh4:
I'd kiss a bird on the nape of the neck.
I'd kiss a gecko on the back.
I wouldn't really kiss any animal on/near the mouth, though. The potential damage of having your faces that close if something startles it just doesn't seem worth it to me. :D

Though maybe if the bird asked nicely, I'd consider it. :tongue3: At least in that case the animal would clearly know what you were attempting beforehand, and show no objection to it.

There you go! That's exactly how I feel! I kiss them because I love them!

Now I am the one that got bit on the lip; he didn't bite me because I was kissing him, but because I had another male sat on my shoulder right before this one climbed to the same spot.

I believe it all comes down to how much time you spent with your geckos, the more you interact with them, the less likely they're going to bite for no reason. Kissing them is not enough to trigger a bite (plus death roll). ***This applies to geckos that are familiar with you, not newly acquired geckos***

I kiss my geckos behind the head and in front of the shoulders, and only after a snuggly-wuggly cuddle session when they're all mellow.
Nauseating, yes, I know.
But it's the definition of squishiness. :daisy:

I would not kiss hatchlings. Even though I want to.
